This Madeira Beach family-owned treasure opened in 1950 and prides itself in selling candies and making homemade ice cream, fudge and italian ice! It's truly an old-time mom-and-pop candy and ice cream store! My family loves to go here and is just perfect for kids. The lines can get REALLY long as this is a very hot spot in Madeira Beach. I consider going to the Candy Kitchen a must! And how can you go wrong with homemade ice cream?? It's just delicious!!

It's truly an old-time mom-and-pop candy and ice cream store! My family loves to go here and is just perfect for kids. The lines can get REALLY long as this is a very hot spot in Madeira Beach. I consider going to the Candy Kitchen a must! And how can you go wrong with homemade ice cream?? It's just delicious!!

Super convenient and tasty Thai food restaurant located directly across the street within walking distance on Gulf Blvd (John's Pass business complex)! Open 7 days a week from 11:30 A.M. to 9:30 P.M. You can find their menus online at thaiam2.com (including sushi!). You can call ahead to make a reservation; I usually just walk over! There is indoor and outdoor seating. They do take-outs and deliveries (within 3 miles | $10 minimum | dinner only).
This is my go-to Thai restaurant when in Madeira Beach and I always recommend the Nam Sod! I've been here so many times and every time I've gone everyone I've eaten with has been very happy with their food.

There is indoor and outdoor seating. They do take-outs and deliveries (within 3 miles | $10 minimum | dinner only).

There is an indoor bar with a great Happy Hr 7 days a week 4:30-7. They also have an early dinner menu. This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner date (but it can get a little loud with the live music). This restaurant is upscale/dressier and not within walking distance as it is in Treasure Island. Get the octopus salad and the Mango nut crusted Grouper! Both are absolutely fabulous!! I would definitely go if possible!! This is also a favorite among locals!

Parks & Nature
Nature lovers will find osprey nests, a wide variety of shorebirds, and one of the few remaining virgin slash pine forests in South Florida. The park boasts several nature trails and bird observation areas. Visitors can swim, fish, and snorkel in the warm waters of the Gulf or picnic while they enjoy the beautiful scenery. Shelling is particularly good here, as the Gulf currents deposit an incredible variety of seashells on the shore. Showers are available and the park's concession has a gift shop and snack bar. Located at the extreme west end of State Road 586. I have never gone to Honeymoon Island but heard from several guests how amazing this Island is. According to them, it is a must-see

It is a bustling, lively scene and good food can be had pretty much anywhere! You can't go wrong doing this for a day!

This is an incredible museum! The new building is awesome to see and I would highly recommend any art-lover to spend a morning or afternoon at the new museum. The building itself is architecturally magnificent! The Dali Museum celebrates the life and work of Salvador Dali (1904-1989) and features works from the artist’s entire career. The collection includes over 2,100 works from every moment and in every medium of his artistic activity, including 96 oil paintings, many original drawings, bookworks, prints, sculpture, photos, manuscripts and an extensive archive of documents.

This is a grocery store that is very convenient to the cottage and is not as pricey as the Publix in Treasure Island. I shop at the Winn Dixie and the Publix! What is nice is that there is also a Dollar Store in the same shopping center as this Winn Dixie, which I always like to check out!

It's posher than the Winn Dixie in Madeira, but there's the Dollar Tree in the same strip mall as the Winn Dixie so I usually just end up doing a lot of my shopping in Madeira Beach. Plus, they have BOGOs (buy one get ones) so I highly recommend checking it out if you are on a longer stay.

The Walmart Supercenter located on Bay Pines is super close to the cottage. If you have any shopping needs during your trip you can usually have them met there!
