Fantastic spot to eat - inside or outside if the weather is good. Also has a great little farm shop that sells meat from their own farm along with local crafts and gifts. There is a walk up to the roman fort (epiacum) from the car park which is suitable for children.

Lovely little steam train ride through beautiful countryside. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great cafe at the railway. You could walk alongside the railway (South Tyne Way) and then catch a train back from one of the later stations.

One of our favourite places to visit- and it is literally at the end of the road. You can do a circular walk to it directly from our garden. Many of our guests love the fact that, when conditions are safe to do so, you can actually walk behind the fall.

This is not a walk for the inexperienced and conditions can be poor - particularly watch out for the wind speeds! That said it is worth every step of the walk in when you reach this stunning location. We walked it from Cow Green but there are a number of other routes in.

Accessed from Cow Green reservoir - which in itself is a stunning and wild location. You can access Cauldron Snout as part of a beautiful circular walk (around 7-8 miles) which takes you along the Tees and through Widdybank Farm.
