Durdle Door is probably the most famous stone arch anywhere in the world. It was created when the sea pierced through the Portland limestone around 10,000 years ago. Looking west over the beach, isolated stacks out at sea show where an older coastline once lay.

Lulworth Cove is a very sheltered pebble beach in a remarkable, horseshoe shaped cove, formed ten thousand years ago by erosion from the sea. There is ample parking, a cafe, toilets and boat trips in summer to Durdle Door and Mupe Bay.

Glorious sub tropical plants in a very sheltered place far away from the winds of Chesil Beach only a few hundred yards away. Wheel chair access is great and there is a cafe drinks and snacks.

Right on the beach just before heading across to Portland. Great stop for a coffee and cake if heading out on a beach walk or stop and have a bite to eat. Right next door you can book paddleboarding excursions/lessons.
