Is it the Garden of Eden? Is it a beer garden? beer truck? I don't know, but the wood-fired pizza, local brews and tasty salads served in the middle of Native Grounds Nursery are delicious and a must-do in Mount Shasta during warm weather! ***This is a seasonal pop-up, so check to see if it's open while you're in town***

Sightseeing

There's 3 falls here- connected by an easy 4-mile out& back hike. the lower falls are flat, rocky and family friendly. Lots of people sunbathe & swim. Even if it's hot, the water can be chilly. You'll see hikers and rock climbers cooling off at middle falls... and some brave souls jumping off the 35-80-foot ledges. Do Not Try This if you don't know what you're doing!!! (pros have spotters & do lots of prep like depth checks) A short, shady hike further and you'll get to upper falls. It becomes progressively less populated, but it's very pretty. If you can only see one, I recommend Middle Falls. You can also drive & park at each overlook if you're not up to the hike.

Consejos para los viajeros

Qué meter en la maleta

Bring water shoes for the lakes & rivers and VARIETY

The weather changes quickly here, so even if it's hot, you should bring a jacket- maybe even a rain jacket. Even if it's cold, bring a short sleeve shirt and maybe a swimsuit- even in winter, sunny days can be warm on a clear day with sun reflecting off the snow.
Desplazamientos

Don't count on ride shares

... like Uber & Lyft. You can try Mt Shasta Taxi & Mt. Shasta Tours, but the town is remarkably walkable/bikeable. For going to local lakes and hiking, a car is useful & there is limited bus service.
