Daylesford is a beautiful small town only 25 minute drive from our house. It's the perfect place to spend a day to unwind at one of the many hot springs/massage & beauty parlours, or to indulge at one of the many fantastic cafes & restaurants. If you're into art there are plenty of local galleries to explore not to mention wonderful gardens and walking tracks.

The Red Hill Hotel (I really like this pub, it’s laid back but more up market then the average pub, you will need to book, it is about 25 mins from our house Castlemaine way)

The Castlemaine Mill is definitely worth a visit if you are interested in vintage furniture or clothing. It is a great place to have a look through and find some amazing second hand treasures! At the mill there is also a lovely German cafe called Das kaffeehaus, Sprout bakery, and a microbrewery called ShedShaker tap room. Shed Shaker often has music on available over the weekend - check out their website to see if anything is on. I highly recommend getting the tasting paddle of beers if you decide to go. The Botanical Gardens is also opposite, which is a lovely stroll on a sunny day.

They do great value long lunches for $55 four courses, highly recommend doing this if you feel like indulging. Please note though you will need to book prior. Otherwise they have a cellar door and offer wine tastings.

Cellar door is open daily from 11am-6pm. It is around 30 minutes from our house. I would phone ahead to check they are definitely open as they hold events as well and may close to the public on those days.
