Lyon Street Cafe nailed it in the ambiance department
(and to be honest, every other department as well)
The lighting is perfect, the seating is comfortable,
the music volume is spot on, the espresso is on point
and the food is some of the best around. This cafe is
probably the closest you’ll get to the lovely quaintness of European flair here in Grand Rapids. The best part? They somehow manage to remain amazingly unpretentious, with kind baristas and a very welcoming space that clearly shows love for this
community.

can barely be heard over the cheerful banter of this
collaborative atmosphere. If you’re here to focus and
not co-work or collaborate, that’s ok too- put your
headphones on and you’ll be set.
Rowster’s baristas are polite and knowledgeable fast talkers who methodically craft your caffeine fix du’ jour. We noticed there’s not a lot of small talk that goes
on, but if you have questions about their brews, they
have answers for you.
Overall, the menu is simple, the coffee is good, and as
far as we know, they’re currently the only ones in town offering CBD Oil Infusion.
One thing to note is that if you need a large table or multiple people with laptops, you may want to arrive early to claim your tables - most of their seating is ideal for working individually, but there is a large space at the bar and also a long table along the front window- a prime location that fills quickly.

Weekday mornings this place is poppin’... come to think of it, Saturday’s are the same way. Our advice? Arrive early if you have seating preferences, arrive early. Their menu is pretty straightforward offering drips, pour overs, lattes and more plus bagels, soup, and pastries. PLUS, they have waffles. Every Saturday 8am - noon. Waffles = winning.

Coffee Shop in Grand Rapids with an international flair and culturally diverse ambiance. If you want peace and quiet and free parking, head there on Sunday, but don’t be fooled by the lack of customers in our photos, head there on a weekday and it is quite the opposite- but not overwhelmingly so.
The first time we visited Mayan Buzz, they had only just opened and they were not very busy yet. It was a wonderful opportunity to chat with the owners who literally took the time to sit and talk with us about their coffee and where it comes from. They are genuinely kind people who care about people and it shows in the way they run their business. Since opening they have added a second location in the Bridge Street Market on the West side of town.
As for the menu, in addition to coffee, espressos, and
smoothies, they also have a nice selection of bagels,
croissants, sandwiches, and more.

The staff is so friendly and inviting. The coffee is delicious and they offer a wide variety of coffee-style beverages. They also have their own coffee beans for sale as well as other apparel.

The coffee is amazing, and they have a wonderful selection of tea and other options for the non-coffee drinkers and kids. I highly recommend this place for the atmosphere, and it's wonderful for studying and relaxing. It's also an amazing gallery, filled with local artists.
