Fabulous locally-owned restaurant with a great neighborhood vibe! They do fantastic hamburgers, arepas, and mixed drinks, and you can eat in or pick it up for takeout. They have expanded seating outdoors during the pandemic, so you can eat inside or outside comfortably. We highly recommend!

Fishscale is a locally-owned and Black-owned little eatery just a couple of blocks away that makes great fish burgers! Using all local and sustainably caught fish, the menu is limited but the taste is great!

Place to Visit

A little green enclave located in the center of a city block, this park is perfect for laying out a blanket and reading in the shade or hanging out with friends! It's off the main streets (you walk down an alley to enter the park), so unless you know it's there, you might miss it!

LeDroit Park is a noted historic D.C. neighborhood, with much rich history--especially Black history! Walk the LeDroit Park/Bloomingdale Heritage Trail, and follow signs that explain some of that history (you can find the one closest to the house just about a block away, in the middle of the 400 block of T St.)
