This State Park has beautiful old oak trees that line the property. There's historical buildings that give you a sense what life was like in "Old Florida". You will find beach and lake access at this park. Canoe, kayak and SUP rentals are available. You can find more information, a price list and hours of operation if you search "Friends of Camp Helen State Park". This park is just a short drive down the road from the cottage.
If you decide to check out this beautiful and peaceful park, I recommend packing a picnic, sunscreen and water.

Shell Island is also a favorite place to visit for many. If you visit Shell Island which is accessible by boat, bring water, sunscreen, a shade structure and a bag to bring your shell treasures home in.
