Margie's Candie's (a landmark) is known around the world for it's candy and ice cream! Margie's is 101 this year, and that says a lot about their reputation.
They are best known for their turtle sundaes. I also recommend their thick shakes and malts. You can purchase candy individually, or by the box. They do not sell candy by weight here. No reservations or phone orders are taken here, but lines can get long. Limited seating, but worth the wait!

There is a shopping district, bars, eateries, and you may even spot some local celebrities! if you're a foodie, you may see Rick Bayless, or Jeff Mauro. If movies are your thing, John Leguizamo visits Chicago occasionally, and Freddy Rodriguez (Six Feet Under) is from Chicago, and actually grew up a block away from where you're staying! If you're more interested in wrestling, CM Punk is from Chicago, and is frequently seen in Wicker Park.

Exercise/ Recreation
The 606 Trail is relatively new to us. An old train railway was converted into a bike path, walking path, running path and park.
The path leads to a few different neighborhoods, but watch out for speedy bicyclists who feel you're in their way! 😁

Great park to take kids of all ages. There's a public swimming pool, baseball field, play frisbee, walk around the park. There's a smaller park near the pool for preschool age kids with swings and climbing gear. There's also 2 small gyms, with basketball nets and indoor activities.
Directly across from Holsteini, going north is a smaller park, great for seniors to sit in the shade and enjoy the weather.

There are some interesting mansions if architecture interests you, and speaking of mansions, the famous Stan Mansion is near. Stan Mansion hosts many events yearly, some of which have been concerts, The Oddities Show, and even weddings.

Small Museums, easy to get to

For museum goers, this is a great little museum. It's smallish, free, and easy to get to. The Milwaukee Ave bus, or, the CTA Blue Line will take you there.

Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art
