This place is further from the condo, it's located one block from the Strand and a short walk from the Galveston Cruise Ship terminal. When I used them we rode the bikes all the way from downtown up to the Seawall all the way down near the condos and back to downtown. It was a blast! Phil is amazing & will get you all set up. It's a full service bike shop that specializes in electric bikes! They offer a fun local island tour that last 2 hours. The tour will start slow taking you through a little history and some turn of the century neighborhoods. Then you'll venture out to the Seawall and see birds of the east lagoon, the busy Houston ship channel and maybe more. The Tipsy Turtle is right there & has outdoor showers (I believe for free) and you can use their restroom (also for free). Tipsy Turtle offers a beach sun deck that is unobstructed and closest to the shoreline than any other, great food menu, cold drinks, fun games, beach chair and umbrella rentals, retail beach supplies and live music.

City/town information

Primarily due to its busy port, Galveston was Texas’s largest, wealthiest city in the late 1800s. The Strand, now a historic district, was known as the Wall Street of the Southwest. But the city that had survived Spanish and French explorers, pirates, the Texas Revolution and the Civil War was ravaged by the monstrous hurricane of 1900.
