Shelby Park is an urban-use park along the Cumberland River, has a lake, golf course and walking and biking trails. There are green bikes for rent and the trails on the park connect to the Greenway which runs through Nashville.

Located about 30 minutes south of East Nashville (without traffic), Percy and Edwin Warner Parks span 3,200 acres of beautiful wooded hills, open meadows, and bubbling streams, and includes 16.75 miles of hiking trails. We like the 4.5 mile Mossy Ridge Trail or the 2.5 mile Warner Woods Trail. This is a park close to the city, so you will see lots of other hikers on these trails, especially on the weekends. We prefer this park in the fall.

Long Hunter is great place for a half day or day hike and is located about 35 minutes away from our home. We recommend the 4.5 mile day loop trail. There are unique rock formations and several scenic bluff overlooks of Percy Priest Lake. There are usually not many hikers on this trail due to the few parking spaces.

The shop still prints more than 500 posters per year, but visitors can also snatch up a token of Nashville history in the form of replica vintage posters like the one founder William Hatch made for the Grand Ole Opry in 1941. It's not just a place to pick up souvenirs, though. Temporary exhibitions and displays of archival posters are in rotation, and real letterpress geeks can sign up for tours and workshops. Ultimately, the crowd is pretty touristy, but there are plenty of locals who have a piece of Hatch history in their homes.

You have to check this place out. It's the coolest most unique house in East Nashville. And you can walk there from our house! The drinks are as delicious as the hip vibe. We love it for the people watching and atmosphere. If you're hungry, there is an amazing pizza pop-up called Roberta's in the parking lot which makes top-notch pizzas in a giant mobile woodburning oven. We love having this place so close.
