Fil, the Australian-Czech brewmaster, makes some of the best microbrews in this entire country. If you don't make it to the brewery itself (on the other side of Plzen) than you must make it to his City Pub. Amazing...

Josef Krysl, who sponsors the best micro-brewery festival every year at his other place (Purkmistr), opened Beer Factory a few years ago with his son and another famous Plzen restauranteur. The food is really good and the beer is always great!

Can't comment on the food - and the atmosphere is pure 80's Czechoslovak-bad - BUT they have one of the best new micro-breweries on all four taps, Stara Škola. And non-smoking, too! A big plus...
