A wonderful local beach with a magical path (.25 mile) down to a pristine swimming beach. Shell One is where you first arrive. Continue the path over the hill to Shell Two. Both are lovely Spend the day!

Gorgeous Limantour provides the opportunity to spread out for the day, play in dunes, and take long walks along the coast. Note: The parking lot and bathrooms are a short walk from the beach itself.

A great beach for groups and the only local one that provides picnic tables and grills. Located on Tomales Bay with beautiful view and plenty of room for tossing a ball or throwing a frisbee. Great for larger group gatherings.

Sightseeing
Abbots Lagoon has long been our family's favorite space to explore. An easy, flat trek to the lagoon and your senses will be rewarded over and over again! Changing colors bloom along the paths all year. Get to the dunes and let your kids run wild while you sit and watch for otters or birds. Continue out to the Pacific and marvel at all the gorgeous, tiny little rocks. Remember not to pocket anything except trash and never approach or disturb the resting animals.

You must have a car in West Marin
There is not better way to get around West Marin than to have a car. Taxis and Uber aren't available here so when you depart the house and wish to go exploring, with the exception of some spots in town and Chicken Ranch Beach, you'll need a car to get there.

Our houses are fairly well equipped for those traveling with kids: toys, books, portable cribs, high chairs. Both of our houses have bathtubs and organic mild soaps for children.

Pack layers!
Pack layers for your stay. Even on a sunny, warm day, it might be windy hiking up on the ridge, or out at the coast. A bathing suit, jeans, a fleece, and a windbreaker are all smart packs. We provide towels and beach toys if needed.
