You may want to stay and enjoy the peace & quiet, but we are ideally placed for trips west to the Lake District, east to the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, and north to Hadrian's Wall. This is a dog friendly accommodation however any other pet ie cat/donkey/giant python I'm afraid has to be left at home and I ask you keep dog on the leash when around the car park and walkways.
