Located next to the owners’ home, but still maintaining solitude and privacy, the cottage is surrounded by open fields and is a haven for wildlife.

The Old Tannery

A traditional sandstone barn conversion, with a sheltered garden in the beautiful village of Temple Sowerby. Located in the Eden Valley you will be well placed for trips to the Lakes or the Dales. In the village there is a local pub offering 'Day Fishing Licences' on the local river, a church and 'The House at Temple Sowerby' if you prefer some 'Fine Dining'. A short beautiful walk will bring you to 'Acorn Bank' National Trust House, with spectacular walks along the river and a tea room.

Wren Cottage is a cosy character 200yr old cottage, with a traditional country kitchen, set in a rural village location overlooking the village green. Located between the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines giving access to beautiful walks, cycle routes and locally, Acorn Bank & Broughton Castle. Easy access to Penrith, Keswick & Barnard Castle. We are dog friendly with a traditional lounge, cosy log burner, good wifi, smart TV, garden, 3 upstairs bedrooms & a bathroom.

We offer attractive self catering accommodation in a quiet picturesque rural Cumbrian village in the Lyvennet Valley at the northern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You will enjoy exclusive use of this well equipped house for 5 guests (with additional mezzanine double sofa bed if required). Set in it's own beautiful garden with an open aspect over fields, this area is wonderful for walking and cycling and with easy access to the Lakes District. Dark skies are a notable feature.

The property adjoins our 18th century home, formerly The Black Bull Inn, on the village green just a few doors down from The Stag. It's perfect for exploring the fells of the North Pennines, a country walk or ride, visiting the towns and villages of the Eden Valley or just taking time out surrounded by books and art.

Nestled amidst stunning countryside in close proximity to both the Lake District and Pennines, this charming getaway offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comforts, with original timber beams, a wood-burning stove, and a private outdoor patio and lawn. The Barn can be booked along with The Byre next door for pairs of couples.

The Mill, Rutter Falls,

Comfortable converted watermill sleeping one or two couples, overlooking a spectacular waterfall, in the tranquil Eden Valley, between Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The deep pool below the falls is ideal for cold-water swimming. Perfect for a romantic getaway, or watching abundant birds and wildlife, for honeymoons, anniversaries or engagements! You won't find accommodation closer to rushing water than this! No under 12s. Check in Fridays and Mondays only.

The village has a pub & a small shop. A 5 minute drive from the historic market town of Penrith which has a selection of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants & amenities. Easy access to the A66 for Keswick. Very convenient to get to from the M6 motorway (junction 41).
