“The arts museum is within the Kampong Glam area also known popularly as Arab Street. All around it are bars, cafes, & restaurants. For a great cocktail bar check out Ethan Leslie Leong's Maison Ikkoku. Back in the heydays of the finance industry he made the world's most expensive cocktail (35,000 dollars) but you can get them at a more reasonable 25 to 35 dollars a drink. For food check out Kampong Glam cafe for local fare and for hipster central walk down Bali Lane. Here you can get a haircut at Hounds of Baskervilles, listen to local and international live acts at Blu Jaz and chill out at several small bars and restaurants on the street amongst a constantly rotating scene fashion stores.”

“European style food and groceries. They have an excellent selection of Western food, including pasta, taco, pella, bbq. One stall sells delicious Russian cake. There is also a Japanese place, great bars for beer and wine. Either by drive or take taxi. If you take public, you end up walking around 20 min. They do have shuttle services, but infrequent. The price is generally quite high.”
