Corona Heights Park

It’s an easier hike, and it’s cool because it’s like a cove of nature in the middle of this urban city. “Corona” means crown, and there are actually some rocks that have formed into what looks like a crown at the very top of the hill. The rocks remind me of that character Thing from Fantastic Four—it’s almost like they could come alive at any moment. Head up here for sunset to get a unique view of the Civic Center and the Castro Theater’s neon lights.

Great view of the City without all of the Twin Peaks tourists. Walking paths and stairs make this pretty accessible. Also, there is a cute little museum. Known by the SF Nickname of "Rocky Mountain".
The peak of the hill offers an unobstructed panoramic view of the city of San Francisco from downtown to the Twin Peaks and is known colloquially as "The Fist" for its distinctive rock formation.

“Just a few blocks South of here, a great little under-visited park with beautiful bonus views of the Golden Gate bridge at the top (of a fairly steep hill). Tennis courts are hiding up there, as are some fun trails for running / walking. One of my favorite green spots in the city. ”
