This is a budget friendly place to buy groceries and other essentials for your stay in Iceland.
This is my favorite grocery store, a bit further away than the other two but definitely worth it.
A good supermarket with much more variety than ‘Bonus’ but with good prices only 3 min drive
This is where we usually shop. There is a sushi takaway inside. You can order your sushi, do your shopping and pick up the sushi before you leave.
Good low-price supermarket called Kronan, approx. 5 minutes drive from our hose, open every day 9-21

“Hafnarborg – the Hafnarfjörður Centre of Culture and Fine Art was founded in 1983, becoming the home of the town’s art collection. Chemist Sverrir Magnússon and his wife Ingibjörg Sigurjónsdóttir laid the foundations of the museum and its collection with the donation of their home and art collection to the town. On the ground floor is a nice restaurant and if you visit the beautiful neighborhood of Hafnarfjörður you can not miss a visit to this wonderful museum. ”

“Fairly new bakery serving sourdough bread and heavenly buns. It became an instant hit with the locals. Eat there or take away. ”

“Farm to table Icelandic cuisine with a modern Scandinavian twist. Menu changes daily depending on season. We recommend you go there for Icelandic fish for lunch or step in during the evening for a more upscale experience and perhaps a cocktail. Run by a young local couple. Note they are closed on Mondays. ”
