I love the Shedd. Due to COVID regulations, you need advance tickets and you must make a reservation time- however this also means that the aquarium is much less crowded than it usually is and there are no school field trips. Fun for adults and kids!
Save a few bucks and hop the train to Union then catch the bus or take an uber here. Borrow one of our bikes and take it on the Metra during summer months or you can drive and use the Spot Hero app to find affordable parking. You can easily spend a whole day here.
Shedd combines the best of early 20th-century “age of aquariums” characteristics—a diverse, global animal collection surrounded by eye-popping architecture—with 21st-century advances in animal care, environments and interpretation.
You are sure to get your fill of sea creatures at the world famous Shedd aquarium.
