Either walk from the cottage, or park at Wray Lane car park (where there is a cafe) and walk over the footbridge along the North Downs Way past Reigate Fort and through the woods until you reach open downland with stunning views (about 20 minutes walk). To park closer to the open downland go to the National Trust 'Margery Wood' car park instead (post code KT20 7EJ).
