Acerca de este lugar
The sanctuary contains most of the top of a 588 ft. high monolith known as Bare Bluff which rises from the shore of Lake Superior on the south shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula. From the top of the bluff, a popular 180 degree spectacular view opens from Manitou Island to Point Isabelle to Bete Grise.

This is a hike in off the beaten path, but the views are worth the effort! Enjoy a little piece of our Keweenaw - fall is particularly beautiful.

Challenging hike to a high bluff. Incredible view of the Keweenaw coastline and tip. Difficult drive unless you have 4x4. We made it in our Jetta, but just barely.

“Kind of like Chipotle, but WAY better! We love our local restaurant for taking the idea of a specialized menu and making it with fresh ingredients and delicious meats.”

Cafetería
“This is another favorite of ours for breakfast (an egg sandwich on a Asiago bagel) or lunch (soup or chicken salad sandwich on a bagel). If you can snag one of their Raspberry turnovers, you will not be disappointed. Maybe we will even run into each other!”

Pastelería
“Known for their Finnish specialties, Suomi Home Bakery and Restaurant is a gem. If you like a good breakfast, Suomi Restaurant in Houghton is the place to eat! Eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, omelettes, pancakes, and much more are on the menu. After breakfast/brunch, take a stroll down Shelden Avenue for some shopping.”

“Amy J's makes a great pasty (sliced potato rather than cubed), but also has other baked goods. Baked goods are always different, but you may find a Finnish tart that is one of the best!”
