We have a sculpture garden and gallery on site showcasing the work of David Carson and other artists. Free entry to our guests. The Last Straw Cottage

Beautiful Boutique Straw Bale Cottage, completely private with 3 double bedrooms (sleeps 6 adults, plus 2 additional single beds and cot available) on a 16 acre farm in Brightwater, Nelson. Situated in the heart of wine country with beaches, rivers (fly fishing), cafes and cycle trails a few minutes away. Large garden, BBQ & outdoor dining. If requested, a cooked dinner or breakfast or packed lunches can also be provided as well as advice and support for local sights and activities.

A relaxing space to retreat to after a day of exploring, Applegirth offers an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area; a separate bedroom with Single bed; a mezzanine level with Queen sized bed and a bathroom with shower over bath, and washer. A Sofa Bed in the lounge can also be utilised upon request. In the lounge is a music station , and selection of games. Outside on the verandah is a covered BBQ and seating area where you can relax and listen to the birdsong.
