Une immersion totale dans la nature dans le confort souhaité. Ni trop, ni trop peu. Nous n'avons pas été embêtés par les insectes et il était rassurant que tous les lits soient munis de moustiquaires. Nos hôtes ont été accueillants tout en restant discrets. Le lieu est très calme et nous avons adoré pouvoir nous promener dans les sentiers privés où nous avons pu voir autant d'animaux que dans le parc sans devoir organiser une expédition compliquée. La plage est sécuritaire et authentique, il n'y avait aucun touristes mais de sympathiques familles locales profitant du paysage magnifique. La dernière journée nous avons vu un groupe de dauphins à quelques centaines de mètres de nous dans l'eau! Merci pour ce séjour merveilleux.

The hosts really make this a stand out experience. I am grateful to Mari and her family for the warm welcome. The house is well equipped and very charming. The location is convenient for day trips around the peninsula and the river is an easy walk down the road. There are two pulperias that had all I needed for my month stay. Not controlable by the host but, on the weekend nights the music from the cantina can be loud and last until 2am. It is also on a road with many motorcycles and cars.

Absolutely beautiful place, surrounding by the most beautiful wildlife. We had such a warm and welcoming arrival. We really enjoyed renting kayaks. They even helped wash our clothes for a small fee as they were very dirty from the earlier part of our trip. They were so friendly and accommodating. This is the perfect spot if you want to watch birds and sea swim. My only constructive comment is it would be nice to have hot water for the showers. We will be returning to this home 💚

This home and property is amazing! Michael is a gracious host, quick-witted, and brings interesting conversation during his short visits. The Osa Peninsula is an absolute dream vacation destination! Few tourists, welcoming locals, great food, and nature galore. We had a large troop of Squirrel Monkeys come through the trees over us as we were swimming in the pool. We heard parrots and howler monkeys every morning. A 4x4 is highly recommended so you can go to some of the even more off the beaten path locations. We absolutely loved visiting Playa Preciosa and Playa Pan Dulce. We met a man named Oscar who took us fishing and served us amazing food at the Cahui Beach Resort. Definitely check that place out for lunch and a day on the beach under umbrellas. There are plenty of grocery options nearby. We visited the end of February and didn't have any issue with biting bugs and the weather was comfortable to sleep. Thank you Michale! We will definitely be back!!!

Absolutely spectacular in every way! The suite was light and airy, incredible views, stunning architecture. Peaceful surroundings. Joe and Susannah are real gems and we truly loved getting to know them (and the dogs and cat). The food was exceptional. Lots to do in Drake Bay: we barely scratched the surface after being there for 4 nights. We would absolutely stay there again.

Outstanding stay in every possible way. Sue and Joe have created an oasis in the jungle. The lodging itself is beautiful and matched the photos but what sets Southern Drakes Lodge apart is the service. We are a family of 5 and never have we felt so taken care of in all our travels. From the moment we booked to when it was time to depart, Sue and Joe took care of every detail from taxis, laundry, tours (thank you Elsa!), amazing meals (Thai and Ellie prepared breakfast and dinner that were as beautiful as they were delicious). Five days was not enough but we all left with a sense of gratitude that we were able to experience the OSA peninsula and stay in such a special place with amazing hosts.

Christian and his wife provided a very comfortable and enjoyable experience during our stay with them in Drakes Bay. From the Boat pick up to the food and room accommodations, all were beyond our expectations. We would definitely stay at Cabina Yaseth again. Pura Vida!

One of the last remaining paradise like places.... it is really hard to leave this dream. Hour long hikes through the jungle, monkeys, arras, tapirs and the puma are close by. Long, beautiful beaches with no one but the sunset in sight. Complete darkness and milky-way over sparkling plankton Susan and Carlos welcomed me into their oasis with open arms and open hearts. They are hard working, loving people taking really huge care of their guests and staying with them was like coming home. Cuddled into the jungle mountain my bungalow was a place for rest and reset. I enjoyed the peace and quiet with no cars or motorbikes and just 5 minutes to the beach so much that i extended my stay from three days to two weeks. there is a restaurant conveniently placed at the bottom of the hill - enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast, lunch (get the boxed lunch for the beach) or dinner. A bar is also part of the families complex where at night you can enjoy a drink with some locals or the other guests.

Beautiful and special area. The bungalow felt larger than it appeared in the photos, new and fresh, lots of windows, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is very large and spacious as well with good lighting. Also, the covered porch is larger than it appears in the photos. The beach in front of the bungalow is gorgeous and when the sun is shining it is very blue and the water is clear. During our stay the beach directly in front had pretty big waves, you can hear the ocean even with the very cold air conditioning running. Scarlet Macaws live here too. We hiked a beautiful trail from the house on towards Corcovado N.P. and part of the trail that goes from Drake to San Josecito, fabulous! Thank you to Carlos, we met him when he found us after we missed our turn down to the bungalow and was always so kind and helpful. And Thank you to Pablo for helping us out of a difficult misfortune with our rental vehicle tire. Not sure what we could have done without his help.

We had a nice stay in this cabin. The bed was comfortable, the space was clean and cleaned daily, there’s a small fridge and coffee maker/kettle, and the shower had hot water. There’s a small deck overlooking an area of trees, which was really nice. Sleeping at night with the fans was comfortable, although the power did go out a few times. Susana was quick to respond and make sure we had what we needed for our stay! It’s good to note a few things. Susana’s place is a part of a larger property with lots of accommodations so it can get quite busy. The cabin was up the hill and away from the main area, which we really appreciated. The bar on the property played really loud music. We couldn’t hear it at the cabin, but it was quite loud during the night walk. The restaurant has good food but very limited hours and only one option of meals, which you have to order 2 hours in advance so it’s good to bring snacks.

We had an excellent stay. The beds were very comfortable which has been not super common for us in CR. The wifi was great as my husband and I were both working. The host was very kind and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised the bugs were minimal for being so open air. The birds were amazing. The lookout point is beautiful. They were kind and flexible about late checkout for us. The host even took time to take us to the waterfall and natural jacuzzi on the property. He taught us about all the different kinds of trees. Mary was great as well. We hope to make it back to stay here again!
