Originally the first floor of a 1900 home for railroad workers in Marion, it is now a refurbished 2 bedroom apartment we call the Irish hill. A completely separate 1 bedroom apartment (also on Airbnb) is the top half of the house, and we call that the Uptown B! Check it out on our host profile. Our shoreline’s tall trees and the open water near Mehaffey Bridge attract both resident and migrating eagles all winter. Adults show their classic white heads, while juveniles appear larger and brown as they develop. Winter months bring especially high activity as northern lakes freeze and the birds gather here to fish.
