The house is the cleanest of the 3 airbnb houses we stayed in this trip. Good traditional Japanese house experience, newer ac. Only negative are the thin towels. Definitely will want to stay here again.

This spot feels like home away from home. Easy access to public transportation, lots of shopping & restaurant options, plenty to see & do right in the area. The home is tucked away on a side street in a residential area that’s quiet & safe. Only thing to note is the three bedrooms upstairs are connected with one way in / out but each room has a door that closes for some privacy. And both toilets are downstairs.

Maiko's place was great!

My family and I stayed in 3 different Airbnbs during our Japan trip and Tei's place was the best. Spacious, clean and comfortable, it truly felt like home. We loved hanging out in the tatami-floored living room. The bedrooms are also roomy. There is also a nice balcony upstairs with sofa seating and a partial view of Toji Temple. The location is convenient which is a few minutes walk away from Jujo Station and bus stations. Tei was very responsive too even when we texted a little late at night. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kyoto. Thank you again, Tei :)

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The location is great, you can walk to Gion from there relatively quickly and it’s a nice walk down the river. The place was super clean and nice. The host is very responsive and helpful. Great stay, definitely recommend this property.

This place was absolutely stunning! Definitely one of the highlights of my Japan trip. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was blown away by how beautiful the cottage was, & how attentive the hosts were. We were given tons of local recommendations upon arriving, & it felt nice to have a peaceful stay away from the hustle & bustle of the city. If you ever plan on visiting Kyoto, I can’t recommend staying here enough!

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön und gemütlich. Größtenteils war es sehr sauber vorallem das Bad und das Bett, hier und da waren ein paar staubige Stellen. Darüber kann man aber hinweg schauen. Der Gastgeber war super erreichbar und sehr freundlich.

Our family had an amazing stay at the Tacto House. Noriko and her son were wonderful hosts and made our experience exceptional, they went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome—from thoughtful local recommendations to small personal touches that really showed how much they care, we cannot thank Noriko enough for her kindness. The space was clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Communication was quick and easy, and it was clear that they genuinely wanted us to have a great stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again —highly recommend!

Royce was an excellent host, if we needed something he was available and helped us right away! The apartment is fun, it is large comparing to Japan’s sizes and it had everything we needed. There is a supermarket literally across the street that is open until 22:00 and a dvd store down the street that we went and got some movies to watch on a sick day. Bed is comfy, we even cooked dinner which we couldn’t in the other apartments during the trip. Public transportation in Kyoto is not as great as it is in Tokyo but the apartment is 7 min away from the train station which was nice. Location wise keep in mind the apartment is around 30 min bus/train ride from Kyoto’s touristy areas. Value for money - great! Thank you Royce for a great time in Kyoto!!

Super nice place to stay. The location closed with the train station, supermarkets, restaurants as well. Royce was super helpful, kind and friendly. I still remember when my husband accidentally left his bag in the train, Royce help us without hesitate to contact the officer of the lost&found department and he guide us how to get our bag back. We really appreciate it for Royce help. 🙂

Really beautiful accommodation in Kyoto. Walking distance to a lot of stuff. In a more quiet area of town, but it felt very authentic. The hosts were very lovely and willing to help. I would stay in this area again in the future!

close to the train stations and bus stops, good place to stay..

Really nice place on the western side of Kyoto. Relatively spacious (longways) peaceful and nicely put together, it's a good place to rest. The 91 bus into town is really useful but also the train is quick to Arashiyama
