Whittled legs of pata negra, rows of Spanish wine and a decor of honey-coloured wood and mirrors greet diners at this pocket of Iberian comfort. The environment is conducive to intimacy, likewise the food.

This is a real foodies restaurant. Not a place to take the kids - but a great place for couples open to great food, steep-ish prices, fabulous wine list. This is where we go to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Chris McDonald is an exceptionally well known chef in Toronto. His last restaurant, Avalon, was an institution. But his "nose to tail" tapas restaurant is an outstanding neighbourhood haunt.
