The famous trams of Santa Teresa, which connect the center of Rio with the neighborhood of Santa Teresa, are not only a real means of transportation for residents of the neighborhood or even tourists who want to visit the place. They are an attraction of the city, they are part of the local scenery and have even become postcards. Out of circulation for four years, since the middle of 2015 the cable cars circulate, in assisted operation, in the sections Largo da Carioca-Largo dos Guimarães and Largo da Carioca-Francisco Muratori. Exits occur every 20 minutes at the Guimarães branch, and every hour at the Muratori branch. The cost of the tour is $ 20, round trip.

Visitors usually discover Santa Teresa, a vibrant and bohemian area with cobbled stone roads, mix of buildings and houses from the 19th century via a Tram, BONDE (the station is in the centre of Rio near Largo da Carioca) whose magic ride over the Arcos (old Aqueduct) and up the hill gives wonderful views of the city and Santa Teresa.
