Take the narrow coast road (left as you exit Irrus) from IRRUS to Kilbaha , past the Grave of the Yellow Men monument, then continue on up to Loop Head. Explore Loop Head lighthouse, the EIRE sign and stroll around the Loop Head cliffs, where Star Wars was filmed. Try to find the “secret garden” – a protected ledge on the cliffs for those not afraid of heights! Its the perfect place for a romantic proposal or picnic. Bring your binoculars as you'll most likely see the local dolphins and perhaps whales or basking sharks if you are lucky!

If doing the coast drive from Kilkee, Loop Head is definitely worth a visit!

The drive along the coast from Kilkee to Loop Head has some really beautiful views. The Lighthouse is very interesting and the walk around it is spectacular! A quiet place, where you can hear the birds calling and if you are lucky, dolphins in the sea.

When you're staying so close this is a place you must visit. Even if you don't go into the Lighthouse, just a walk around the edge of the cliffs there is fabulous. You may see some bottlenose dolphins and there's even little inlets that when the sun is shining, each time the waves come in, a rainbow is created - it's magic!
