Closest beach to the cottage, plenty of parking all along the track but does get busy on a hot day! Lovely wide beaches and if you’re up early enough you may be lucky to spot dolphins.

Beach on your doorstep! Sweet beach with plenty of sand, sea for a quick dip, and rockpools. Often an ice cream van in summer (disclaimer: not always, but he usually turns up!). Directions from the cottage: Head back through the farm. When you meet the road, turn right. Take the first right, in the dip. Follow the road for a few moments and you'll arrive at Coclawburn beach.

This stunning, sand and rock, beach, backed by grassy dunes, lies on the North Sea coast, between Berwick and the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. Bottlenose dolphins have been spotting regularly from the beach. The rural beach is within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an area popular with walkers. Both the Northumberland Coast Path and the National Cycle Route pass nearby. In early summer, beautiful wild flowers can be seen along the paths behind the dunes. This beach is a great spot to come for long, windswept walks, to admire the big, open sky and beautiful seascapes. On clear days it is often possible to see Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle to the south of the beach. As well as walkers, and families who come to enjoy the sand and rockpools exposed at low tide, this beach is also used by birdwatchers, surfers and body boarders.
