There’s a wealth of family-friendly activities to enjoy at Lappa Valley including; pedalo's, crazy golf course, steam train rides, indoor soft play areas, musical trails and woodland walks!

The Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a narrow gauge railway which opened in 1849 as a mineral line from Newquay to East Wheal Rose and was reopened in 1974 as a tourist attraction Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a narrow fifteen inch gauge railway which opened in 1849 to carry minerals between Newquay and East Wheal Rose. Later, it became part of the GWR Newquay to Chacewater branch line. The line closed in 1963 but, the following year, part of the line was re-opened as a narrow gauge railway. Two steam locomotives, “Muffin” and “Zebedee”, run from Benny Halt to East Wheal Rose, where there is a leisure complex with a children’s playground, and then further on to Newlyn Down’s Halt. You might want to check opening times for the train rides, but this is only a 10/15 minute drive form the caravan.

Jump aboard a steam engine and journey on through the beautiful, Cornish countryside at Lappa Valley Steam Railway. A nature park awaits you with plenty to see and explore. The kids can let off some steam (pardon the pun) in one of the many family-friendly activity zones. Go crazy over a game of mini golf, or canoe and paddle your way over the lake. The woodland walk will whisk you away on a nature trail full of discovering. Carrying on the fun, kids can hop and climb their way over and under the adventure playground. Get dizzy on the swinging roundabout, or play driver on the play trains and ships. Play in the soft play area or try your hand at table football in the indoor play carriages.
