Great place to take a walk or go on a trail run! If there has been rain recently, the greenbelt may be swimmable too!

A half mile hike from street parking, you'll find a large flat stone scape that's part river most of the summer. There's a quasi lake with a cliff to jump from (at your own risk) if you keep hiking. A short climb will get you to the lookout from which this picture was taken! 1601 Spyglass Dr, Austin, TX 78746 12 minute drive Park at the address above. Enter at the large greenbelt entrance and after hiking down the stony hill, take a left. Stay to the right and about one half mile in, you will be at the flats. This is the river in the picture above although it is usually half dry and all flat stone, hence being called the flats. you will see the enormous cliff face and the cave from which this picture was taken. You'd be surprised to know as a sober adult you can access it relatively easily with no "real" climbing. If you want to go to a cliff jumping spot (only when water is high), follow the river downstream for a half mile.
