A great place for local fishing, the nature center is built on land that used to be part of Fort Chaffee. The center itself has some neat exhibits on the local animals that live in the area. Enjoy some great walking trails around the lake.

Some nice walking trails through nature....mostly flat so a good place to walk with kids. The nature center building has exhibits that highlight local flora and fauna.

Great hikes of varying lengths depending on time available and energy. A wonderful hands-on nature center, fishing, boating and archery available, watch them feed animals. Contact them for any programs on the calendar, but you can simply drop in. Closed Mondays.

In addition to a really great nature center facility, they also offer free kayaking, canoeing, and archery; hiking/walking trails, fishing, picnicking, interpretive services, kids activities, and special events such as night hikes, ghost stories & cocoa, free boat tours on the Arkansas River. Most activities and services are free to the public.
