Rated one of the best beaches in the country. You can walk out to Salt Island at low tide. Need reservations in the summer. Can call for reservations 10 days prior to visit. Some surfing here in early mornings prior to crowds.

Large beach with a small channel at one end. Good for boogie boarding, body surfing and surfing. Parking fee.

There is a parking fee. * New parking system in place For info on reserving a space to park at the beach- go to the City of Gloucester Beaches Non-Resident Online Beach Parking Reservation System Our beaches fill up very quickly in the summertime as Gloucester is a world-renowned vacation destination and a popular day-trip spot. The City will be utilizing Yodel, a new online beach parking reservation system for non-resident beachgoers. Reservations can be made up to 10 days in advance and are required for non-resident parking at Good Harbor Beach, Wingaersheek Beach, and Stage Fort Park. Reservations are non-refundable, and cash will no longer be accepted at the gate for parking.

8 min drive - Very popular beach to catch rays & swim ... sunny summer weekends: go early or late (or you will sit in traffic to pay for parking). During Summer: Non-residents must go online to reserve parking (not more than 10 days in advance) at Good Harbor & Wingaersheek. Ugh. I don't how strictly it's enforced during non-peak hours. No cash payment at gate.
