The Arco de São Gonçalo is located in the Garden of the Constitution next to the ancient walls of Lagos of Roman origin and rebuilt by the Moors in the 18th century. VIII, and to the Castle of the Governors a little further ahead. In addition to being beautiful, the Arch houses the Oratory of St. Gonçalo, marking the place of his birth in 1360 in a house near the Portas do Mar. He is the patron of the fishermen of Lagos and is attributed "The Miracle of Tuna Multiplication". It is since 1972 the Patron of this city, which has its municipal holiday on October 27 in his honour. The Oratory was built in the 1940s to perpetuate the memory of the Saint.
