If walk a few blocks west from 812 - on 28th street you run into Lake of the isles. Great place to catch a sunset. And after dark on the south side of the lake is one of the best views of downtown Mpls. The view highlights the contrast of lake life in a urban world!

Two tiny islands that are wildlife refuges with virgin woods sit in the middle. A nice walk around, grassy areas to relax in. Birchbark Books and The Kenwood restaurant nearby. I recommend both.

You’re just 4 blocks east of the northern edge of the lake. Kenwood Park across the street. Lake has walking, running, and bike trails, access to cross country skiing, dog park, and connection to Minneapolis chain of 4 lakes.

A really fun lake to walk around because of the beautiful architecture of the surrounding homes. A little quieter than Lake Calhoun.
