Adorned with pictures and climbing regalia of pioneering mountaineers from days gone by, this cosy pub is the home of where many an Everest expedition was planned. Good pub stop near Capel Curig after a walk, with Hillary & Tenzing’s signatures on the ceiling! They practised in the area for their Everest climb in 1953.

The men who first conqured Everest trained in Snowdonia and this unusual little pub has their signitures and boots. Historically, very interesting. Well worth a visit ( 10 mins from cottage...)
